"Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work;
for their good deeds follow them.”
(Revelation 14:13, NLT)

Very Rev Prof Joshua N. Kudadjie’s association with Scripture Union Ghana dates back many decades. By God’s grace he had a clear and solid commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. This was as a result of the influence of the ministry of Scripture Union on his life. He lived an exemplary life of godly lifestyle and integrity, throughout his personal life, in the academia and in public service. He consistently walked his talk as a teacher and Professor in Christian Ethics and Philosophy. In his early years as a born-again believer, he benefitted greatly from Christian nurture he received as a member of the Scripture Union. He was a keen member of the Kaneshie SU Fellowship and served as the Chairman of the Central Committee of the SU in the Greater Accra Region (there were only a few Regional Committees outside Accra then!) Brother Joshua continued to flourish in the Evangelical Christian faith while studying at the University of Cambridge, in Britain.

Very Rev Prof Joshua Kudadjie was an ardent believer in, practitioner, and promoter of Christian Character Formation. For him, Character Formation and expression of same, was the cornerstone of living Christian Spirituality. He had nursed a vision of the establishment of National Christian Centre for Character formation. Would the Christian Church in Ghana uphold that vision! Rev Prof Joshua Kudadjie was a transformational leader in offering Leadership in many places....He literally transformed and re-engineered a new Bible Society of Ghana, stepped aside and handed the new brand of Bible Society to Lawyer David Ayi Hammond, another SU man and authentic Evangelical Christian, as the new General Secretary of Bible Society.

That transformation must have happened only by the finger of God, the transformational leadership dedication of Prof Kudadjie and earnest prayer – his personal effective prayer life; and successfully mobilising committed believers for sustained prayers. We have been part of his prayer mobilisation. Prof Joshua Kudadjie was Christ-like. He loved people, personally, deeply, and with clean genuine love. Prof Joshua Kudadjie’s distinctive marks of transformational leadership remain on the Department of Religions, University of Ghana, Legon Interdenominational Church (LIC); General Director, Methodist Church Ghana, and as Pro- Vice Chancellor, Methodist University. He lived a fully functional life in Christ... to the glory of God.

Today, as we part company with God’s servant, a genuine and authentic evangelical Christian we hope and pray that the lives he touched with the Gospel of Christ will be found among his jewels in glory. Farewell, fellow soldier of the Cross of Christ!
