Tribute from Isaac and Mary Quaye

“For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”(2 Peter 1:8, NASB)

Dad took me as his very own child from the time we got to know each other from the Legon Interdenominational Church. I truly cherished him as my Father as well. His words were prophetic and his wisdom profound, yet Dad carried himself with outstanding humility. With all the grace that he had, he never ceased to crack a few jokes when necessary.

I can visualize till today when Dad and Mama came to dedicate our new home as a young couple. Every word that he spoke in prayer has stood the test of times and continues to stand today.

One of the toughest times I have faced in my life was when my mother passed away. I can’t forget how Dad and Mama, stayed in our flat when I had gone to inform my brother in the Central region about the critical condition in which Mama was. When I returned from my trip, the calmness with which he welcomed me and his words still echo in my ears. When I had to make my first trip overseas to further my studies, Dad was the backbone to support and encourage me.

Recently there was a heavy burden on my heart to see Dad. We had a chat last December and we all hoped to see each other in January 2020. Unfortunately, I could not make my trip as anticipated, but had hoped to see him in February. It was very sad for me to have learnt about his passing.

Dad, we cherish your words, prayer and support. You lived truly to the words in Phil 1:21: “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” You will forever stay in our hearts.
