“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
James 5:16b, NKJV

Jesus Christ, tell my father-in-law that we miss him a lot. First, my father-in-law (Dad) taught me to pray often and fix my eyes on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We prayed in good times and bad times together. For example, we prayed often over the phone when I was unemployed. We prayed during birthdays, family events, at the end of the year, times of difficulties etc.  We saw God answer many of those prayers at the right time.

You were a man of prayer. You trusted God.

One of Dad’s favorite Ga quotes translates as follows: “The one who washes clothes, his hands cannot be dirty” meaning in Dad’s own words “ those who do others some good will receive a good turn.”

Dad was calm in good and bad times. I want to emulate your calmness because God’s will will be done regardless of me. You have trained us well and planted lasting seeds in our souls. You have made our journey easier. We are encouraged for your death comes with a promise—the promise of a new life.

Thank you, Dad, for your fruitful life—a life which continues to bear fruits in us. You are cherished, our guiding star. Your life had a profound influence on us because you allowed King Jesus Christ to guide you.

See you soon.
