Tribute from the Ga Sub-Urban Circuit

Then I heard a voice from Heaven say “Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on “Yes”, says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them.”(Revelation 14:13, NIV)

Beloved in the Lord, today we have every cause to celebrate the life of our dear Osofo, father, mentor and friend, for a life well led in Christ Jesus, for the life of Papa Osofo has left foot prints worthy of emulation.

Very Rev Prof J.N Kudadjie and his dear wife, Mama Miriam Kudadjie, were transferred to the Ga Mission, which later became Ga Mission Circuit in 1998.

The Ga Mission, though just outside Accra, was faced with such major challenges that it took the bravest of hearts, commitment and the vision of Paul to serve it. Some of the challenges included the sheer size of the mission area, distances between the many communities, and the lack of resources for effective service. We can, however, look back and be thankful that the Lord used dedicated men like Very Rev Prof Kudadjie to bring the Circuit this far.

Although Papa Osofo Kudadjie was stationed in Amasaman, he served other societies like Kpobiman, Kwashiekumaman, Manhean, Kojo Ashong, Amamole, Ayikai Doblo and many others. We all know that Prof was a wonderful Minister, who had time for all. He loved winning souls for Christ, and committed his life to God and God’s work and, though he was then not a young man, we saw that this was a man “energized” by a power greater than what the natural world understands.

To him, Easter Mondays were celebrated with brass band music in the communities and always culminated in house to house evangelism. At Quarterly Meetings, which he faithfully attended, he used the Constitution of the Methodist Church Ghana and the Bible to answer almost every question, and encouraged all Stewards to always carry these special books to all meetings. He never ceased to be an advocate for the Ga Sub-Urban Circuit.

In 2005, he negotiated a twinning relationship between Korleman Society and Legon Interdenominational Church (LIC). By the arrangement, which still operates, LIC has helped Korleman to put up structures for their children’s service and Kindergarten/primary school, and continues to send preachers to Korleman, each second Sunday of the month.

The Ga Sub-Urban Circuit has lost a great teacher, counsellor and an advocate, who taught us to pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfullness, love, and gentleness which he demonstrated with his own life style.

Papa Osofo Kudadjie, a lot of people thank you for leading them to the Lord. We shall miss you, but today, we can say;
“The strife is o’er, the battle done; Now is the victor’s triumph won:
Now be the song of praise begun. Alleluia! (MHB 215).

Very Rev Prof J.N Kudadjie, Fare thee well, Osofo Kudadjie, Da yie.

Papa Osofo Onukpa, wo ojogbann ye Nuntso Yesu Kpokoian. Amen.
